The Greece Government sent a request to the European Union, in which it asks them to send them a border patrol in order to be able to strengthen the protection of the Greek-Turkish border from the “influx” of illegal migrants. Thus, referring to the Ministry of Public Protection of Greece, the Agency France-Presse information agency reports that on the twenty-fourth, on Sunday, two relevant letters were sent by Cecilia Malmstrom-the Commissioner for the Internal Affairs of the European Union and Anemia Tutellabum-the chairman of the Council of the European Union for Internal Affairs.
According to the data provided by the agency, in recent months, Greece authorities record a strong increase in the penetration of illegal immigrants from Turkish territory. According to Christ Paputsis, the Minister of Public Protection, today the inhabitants of the “third” countries carry out illegal migration through the Turkey in Greece in the European Union. An important fact is that in many cases Greece is only an intermediate point on the way to other European countries. Paputsis also emphasized that this problem can definitely be attributed to the problem of all European countries.
Thus, in Athens, it is believed that to stop this process requires detachments of the border patrol of the European Union formed to suppress illegal migration to European countries. This kind of troops operates with the support of the Frontex agency in the European Union, which specializes in the security of the borders. It is worth noting that earlier this organization helped Greece to significantly reduce the stream of illegal immigrants that penetrate this country by sea.

So, according to statistics, in the year before last in Greece, about 50% of all illegal immigrants migrating to Europe were delayed. As for data for the current year, over the past eight months, about 90% of migrants have been detained.
