Last Saturday, the solemn opening of the sixth Congress of the Communist Party of Cuba was held on the island of Freedom. Over the past fourteen years, this is the first congress of the Communists, which has been designed to make long -awaited economic transformations. In addition, on this day, a large -scale military parade took place, which was headed by the current leader of Cuba Raul Castro. The parade was dedicated to the fiftieth anniversary of the establishment of Cuban socialism and the victory in a large -scale operation in the Gulf of Pigs. The Opened sixth Congress of the Communist Party of Cuba was collected in order to hold large -scale economic reforms in the country. It is on this congress that the election of new members of the Central Committee is supposed to be the election of about a hundred people. It is the new committee that is designed to update the composition of the secretariat and the Politburo. According to the program, Cuba’s Congress will take place from April 16 to 19 – it was at this time that fifty years ago, an operation was carried out in the Gulf of Pigs, during which 1400 armed and trained CIA anticastrists invaded Cuba. It was on April 16, 1961 that Fidel Castro proclaimed the socialist nature of the failed Cuban Revolution.
April 16 – on the opening day of the congress – a festive parade in honor of the half -century anniversary of Cuban socialism was held on the Gavanskaya Square of the Revolution. He headed a parade in which about hundreds of thousands of war veterans, workers, adolescents and children participated, as well as more than a thousand delegates of Congress, dressed in military uniforms and a peasant species of Sombrero, President of Freedom Island Raul Castro. The military was given the honor of Fidel Castro, but the 84-year-old commandant himself was not present at the parade.
