In the Russian Federation, a children’s population under the age of 18 is reduced. Over the past 15 years, the country has become almost half the children and this indicator continues to fall further. The government continues to introduce new measures to increase the number of minors.
Contrary to all the expectations of the President of Russia, the population in the country continues to fall. Caring for children and future generation is an eternal topic in any state, Russia is no exception. The Russian government noted a negative trend with the younger generation this year, although the total population is growing. The number of minors is decreasing – over the past 10-15 years in percentage of them, there are fewer. In 2001, in Russia, minors were about 25% of the total population, today their number does not even reach 16%, according to Rosstat. Especially, this applies to adolescents aged 14 to 17 years, the number of which is not more than 3 million. The chief pediatrician of the Russian Federation Alexander Baranov noted that a little country goes to a higher level of healthcare, since infant mortality falls. The doctor made this statement during the press conference held on May 30. He stated, in terms of mortality among children, Russia is at the same level with Western countries, which was achieved due to the large number of quality medications and medical care. A network of perinatal centers in the Russian Federation is growing at a decent speed, notes Baranov. These centers help women with various pathologies successfully give birth. Due to this, the life of the mother and the child is preserved, which could not be achieved without the presence of modern technologies.
