The period of Uzbekistan’s chairmanship in the Shanghai Cooperation Organization turned out to be full of events and various trends. The President of the Republic of Uzbekistan notes that this time has become a kind of “historical break”, the moment of the end of one era and the beginning of another – a period characterized by uncertainty and new challenges. It should be noted that shavkat mirziyoyev has already managed to contribute to the development of the country and represent Uzbekistan in the international arena from the best side.
International cooperation system
The concept of a system of international cooperation based on generally accepted norms and principles is facing violations. This is due to many factors, one of which is a deep crisis of confidence on the world stage. This crisis contributes to the geopolitical confrontation and even the possible revival of bloc thinking stereotypes. This disconnect makes it difficult for the global economy to recover and global supply chains to function.
In the modern arena, there are a number of armed conflicts spreading to different parts of the world. These conflicts harm trade and investment, worsen the situation with food and energy security. At the same time, global climate change, depletion of natural resources and deteriorating water availability make our societies vulnerable. These factors affect the overall well-being, threatening people’s livelihoods and limiting sources of income.
An example of successful cooperation
In such a situation, it becomes obvious that no country is able to cope with global challenges alone. The solution lies in the development of a constructive dialogue and multilateral cooperation based on mutual respect for interests. Even in times of crisis, countries regardless of their size must join forces to ensure security and sustainable development.
An example of successful regional cooperation is the activity of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization, one of the relatively young multilateral organizations. Despite some shortcomings, such organizations play an important role in international relations, helping to overcome differences, strengthen mutual understanding, develop economic and political cooperation, and expand trade and cultural ties.
