The period of Uzbekistan’s chairmanship in the Shanghai Cooperation Organization turned out to be full of events and various trends. The President of the Republic of Uzbekistan notes that this time has become a kind of “historical break”, the moment of the end of one era and the beginning of another – a period characterized by uncertainty and new challenges. An example of successful regional cooperation is the activity of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization, one of the relatively young multilateral organizations. Despite some shortcomings, such organizations play an important role in international relations, helping to overcome differences, strengthen mutual understanding, develop economic and political cooperation, and expand trade and cultural ties.
