India and the USA began to launch an open electronic government platform. This platform was presented at the next Congress of the Was-india Joint Commission Meeting on Science and Technology Cooperation, held on June 11 of this year in Washington, USA. The presentation of the platform was carried out by the Minister of Science and Technological Development of India, Vilashrao Shlemukh, together with the head of the White House Science and Technology Department, adviser to Barack Obama for technological issues by John Holden. The new platform called Open Government Platform is a new type of joint design and development of the activities of the electronic government that can benefit the entire world community by increasing the transparency of governments of interested countries and improving the service of citizens of these countries. Public administration at the same time becomes more transparent and open. In the framework of cooperation on this project, India and the United States set themselves the task of creating a software complex that can give citizens the possibility of using these government information systems for the development of innovative proposals, as well as to improve and simplify the process of servicing citizens’ requests for state structures. Work on the creation of the platform was launched in December last year, and already in May of this year the beta version of the platform for testing was released for testing. The development of the platform was carried out jointly by government developers in India and the USA. The final version of this open platform should be completed before the end of this year. The OGPL platform is built on Open Source components with open code for free use by everyone. Developers around the world will be able to create applications for promoting government data users in different formats. Many open developers communities have already expressed interest and willingness to participate in this project.
