The agreement between Rosagropromsoyuz and Rapu members (Russian Association of Fertilizer Manufacturers), signed last week, can be considered as preparatory work for the transition to new principles for the formation of market prices for fertilizers planned for 2013.
It should be noted that to adapt domestic farmers to the new pricing policy of fertilizer manufacturers, agricultural chemists identified six months.
In accordance with the signed agreement, the maximum prices for mines will be set every month before the end of its second decade, and their size will depend on the cost of electricity, gas prices and grain crops. It is noteworthy that price fluctuations, in accordance with the conditions of this document, can occur both towards increasing and lowering. Agro -chemists do not exclude the possibility of cheaper fertilizers in a situation where there will be a world trend in reducing prices for mineral fertilizers.
Each fertilizer production company must formulate and make a publicity its trading policy by the end of this year. This will allow domestic farmers to plan their expenses in advance. FAS representatives are ready to take an active part in this process.
