A scandalous bill tightening the holding of rallies entails very large fines. Opponents in the presidential council have now appeared here. The Chairman of the Council Mikhail Fedotov also promised to personally ask Putin to impose on the veto law. The Council will make such a request if the law is approved by the parliament.
So far, only the first reading in the State Duma has passed the bill itself. It should be noted that only deputies of United Russia voted in the Duma.“This bill moves us in the opposite direction from the very moment when we began to create our society. It is quite important that making changes to the legislation associated with demonstrations and rallies, which allows us to strengthen the rights of citizens, and not constantly infringe them, ”said Mikhail Fedotov.
It should be recalled that in the first reading of the bill to tighten responsibility for violations at rallies, only 236 deputies voted, of which 207, and only one abstained. The entire Duma opposition of the LDPR, “Fair Russia”, and the Communist Party voted against.
The bill introduced by United Russia now involves an increase in fines and further introduction of compulsory work as a punishment for violation of shares.
