On the eighth of November, referring to the Tehran-Emrouz newspaper Agency Agency France-Presse, reports that the Tegeran police officers during the Friday raids managed to arrest several underfilling rap groups in the places of their collection. The exact number of those arrested is not yet called.
According to the police chief Tehran Khosein Sadiyani, the police seized alcohol and “some Western musical instruments” from detained boys and girls.
The policeman also added that until now the officers have kept several places for the collection of rappers under supervision. It is reported that young people organized their meetings in old and abandoned buildings, and in order for their meetings to go unnoticed by they masking the places of gathering by hovering windows with dirty curtains.
The police claim that the rappers conducted an underground entry with the further unauthorized distribution of their songs and clips. Sadinii accused young musicians of popularizing unhealthy relations between girls and boys, depicting a oppressive portrait of society and foul language.
Note that in Iran, before the official release of a musical work will be held, all the music is carefully checked by censors. As a rule, rappers do not allow rappers even, despite the fact that among young Iranians the popularity of rap musicians is quite great. The Iranian government considers Western music, along with heavy metal and rap, decadent. Thus, underground groups in this country spread their work on the Internet or place it on some Iranian satellite channels that broadcast from abroad.
