The court of Rome decided to remove the arrest from the archive of the famous writer and artist of the Renaissance – Georgio Vazari. It is reported by “ANSA”. After the adoption of this decision, it becomes possible to make transactions for the sale of its archive. It also became known that Vazari’s papers will be sold by the heirs of Count Festari Ross Engineering.
Archive of a student of Buonarroti Michelangelo was arrested in March. So the owners suspected that in this way Italian authorities expected to win a little time to collect money to purchase an archive.
Note that this rather confusing story with the problem of selling vasari papers lasts since last year. For the entire time of the conflict, Italian media has repeatedly reported that the papers were purchased by a businessman from Russia for an implausible amount that amounted to one hundred and fifty million euros, that this Russian died in an accident, and that, despite the purchase of papers, it would take place.
At the same time, some media suggested that the sale of an archive to the client from Russia is actually fiction, resorting to which the owners are trying to force the country’s authorities to enter into auction bidding and purchase Vazari papers at a higher price.
In addition, it was also reported that due to the fact that the archive has the status of a national treasure, it cannot be withdrawn from the city of Scratzo, even in the case if it is sold to a third-party person. So, according to the statements of the heirs of Festari, the presence of this fact does not stop Russian buyers.
In conclusion, we note that there is an opinion that in the archive of the author of “Biographies” there are also seventeen letters of Michelangelo, some correspondence of several papes of the Roman, as well as some other famous Italians of the 16th century.
